Raw Material
Slightly tapered crew neck T-shirt "N44" from Continental Clothing (CC). It is hemmed at all sides and the collar is finely ribbed.
The T-shirt is made from 70% bamboo viscose and 30% combed, GOTS certified bio-cotton. The quality of bamboo viscose fiber is comparable to cashmere and silk but is somewhat more resistant than silk. It has a natural shimmer, is antibacterial and breathable. The fabric remains cool in the heat. Delicate jersey, diaphanous fabric. Fabric weight equates to 115 g/m2 (4.95oz/y2). Soft, very light, dries quickly and can be folded to a very small size.
Machine washable at 30 °C. Always iron inside out at level 1.
Ecological and ethical orientation
Bamboo viscose fiber consists of the most environmentally sustainable fiber in the world. The bamboo plant is very robust and grows extremely quickly. Due to its antibacterial features, no pesticide treatment is necessary. The root system of the plant retains water in the ground and prevents erosion. Bamboo absorbs five times as much carbon dioxide and produces 35% more oxygen than any other plant. Clothes made from bamboo viscose fibers are 100% biodegradable.
The T-shirt meets the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Class 1. This standard guarantees that textiles and dyes are not damaging to health or the environment. It ensures that a water treatment obligation protects local waters.
The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) promotes fair working conditions in the textile industry worldwide.
The printing plant obtains its dyes from the company Sericol Ltd., which carries the certificate of the quality management system ISO 9000. In comparison to conventional inks, these plastisol inks are environmentally friendly and not damaging to health. In 1993 Sericol was awarded the enironmental prize of the British Queen.
